Wonderful (your words and the blanket) - so heartwarming! Also, this brings back warm memories of my Grammie - "many hands make light work" is one of those phrases I grew up hearing her say (she was a knitter too, of course!)

HA!!! I'm going to have to read this message to my husband... he will likely fall over laughing.

Yes indeed, I am quite terrible at few things such as 1. House keeping... good lord if my mother only knew how terrible things looked around here. But honestly, I HATE cleaning with a passion, and there are so many better things I could be doing with my time... 2. Baking, in general... I'm a great cook (if I do say so myself) but I'm normally not so great at the very orderly, step-by-step procedures of baking. Cupcakes and cookies I need to be able to produce 'cuz it keeps the kids occupied, but not anything too complicated. I have a story that involves adding trash can deodorizer to a batter instead of baking soda... ;-) 3. Organization... somehow, although I crave this more than any other trait, this skill totally eludes me. I HATE being disorganized, yet I haven't found an effective way to get there and stay there.

Sigh.

But those cupcakes sure did look tasty, huh? ;-)

-C

P.S. Thanks for making me laugh... I really needed it!

Yeah, I was totally hit by the bug for a bit, then I got hit with the "oh my God, my house will never get unpacked if I keep distracting myself form the mess" reality and took a break...

now I've gotten a bigger handle on the house mess, so I'm thinkin' and feelin' a few more posts a-comin'! So much easier to write to your creative blog when you're actually doing creative things!

Heh, Mel, you're so kind!

You should see our floors! Covered in dog hair, little toys, bits of food, but Lord! I do not care at this point! I am so doggone happy with the socks and I love how they feel on my feet. So impractical (cuz you know, nice yarn is soooo cheap ;-) yet they've made me immeasurably happy! I just bought a few new sock skeins for inspiration and I'm eyeing up a pattern or to from cookie a, but not until I finish two very important little knits for soon-to-be-one year olds... and maybe a pair for the hubbie. He won't wear sweaters or hats, but he said socks might be OK!
